WoW Forever is its own client with its own addons and settings. SyncCrate copies the AddOns and WTF folders between PCs, so your raid group runs the same addons and your laptop gets your UI.

A new version of WoW, a new addon folder
WoW Forever, Blizzard's new permanent version of World of Warcraft, launches on 4 November 2026 and installs next to retail and Classic as a separate client. That means a separate Interface/AddOns folder and a separate WTF folder for your addon settings, set up from scratch.
For a guild starting fresh, that's the moment everyone should agree on the same boss mods and helpers. For you, it's a UI you'll want on every PC you play on.
SyncCrate syncs both folders between PCs. Files are compared by content, only the differences are copied, and you see the list before anything changes.

Built in for WoW Forever
- Script warnings.
.luafiles run code on your PC, so they're flagged for you to review before they sync. - Turn mods on and off. Disabled mods move to a
_Disabledfolder the game doesn't load. - Game-running warning. SyncCrate warns you before syncing while WoW Forever is still open.
- Undo and history. Undo the last sync in one click, and put back any single file a sync replaced or deleted.

Sync WoW Forever in three steps
Install and add the game
Install SyncCrate on every PC and add WoW Forever in the Game Browser. Its folder is found automatically.
One PC hosts
The PC with the setup everyone should have clicks Start Hosting. The others pick it under Scan for Hosts on the same network, or paste its join code from anywhere.
Compare and sync
Check the list of new, changed and conflicting files, then Sync Now. Only the files that differ are copied, PC to PC.
TipLog out of WoW Forever, or close it, before you sync. The game writes addon settings to WTF when you log out, and SyncCrate warns you if it's still running.

When WoW Forever mods don't match
A guild starting fresh on different addons
A new realm means everyone installs addons again, and a raider on an old boss mod misses warnings.
The raid leader hosts, everyone else syncs the AddOns folder and gets the same addons and versions.
Your UI on a second PC
The addons install quickly, but the layouts and profiles they keep in

Addons run code
Addons are Lua and run inside the game, so you want them from people you trust.
.luafiles are flagged before they sync, and nothing changes until you approve the list.

Good to know
- Install folder: SyncCrate looks for WoW Forever in a
_forever_folder inside your World of Warcraft folder. Blizzard hasn't confirmed the folder name yet; if it isn't found, point SyncCrate at your WoW Forever folder once. - Real addon names. The Content page reads each addon's
.tocfile and shows its title, version and author instead of the folder name. - Names, pictures and updates from CurseForge. Click Check for updates on the Content page and SyncCrate recognises your addons on CurseForge and shows updates built for your version of the game. It sends only file fingerprints (numbers worked out from the files), never names or files, and only when you click.
- WTF is personal. Sync it between your own PCs. When sharing with friends, let the host keep it private and share only AddOns.

Does SyncCrate work with WoW Forever?
Yes. WoW Forever is its own game in SyncCrate, with its AddOns and WTF folders. It launches on 4 November 2026; until its install folder is confirmed, you may need to point SyncCrate at it once.
Can I use my retail or Classic addons in WoW Forever?
Only addons made for WoW Forever's client work there. SyncCrate copies files; it doesn't make an addon compatible. Use the versions your addon's author publishes for WoW Forever.
How do I give my guild the same addons?
Host with only the AddOns folder allowed, and guildmates sync to get the same addons and versions without your personal settings.
Will my WoW Forever settings overwrite my retail ones?
No. Each version of WoW keeps its own AddOns and WTF folders, and SyncCrate treats them as separate games.
