Why moving Darkest Dungeon mods takes more than a subscribe button
Darkest Dungeon mods come from two places. Workshop mods are one click away, but mods from other sites, older versions that still work with your campaign, and your own edits go into the mods folder in the game folder, one folder per mod.
Hero class mods become part of a campaign once you've hired them. Load that hamlet on a PC without the mod, or with a very different version, and the heroes, their skills or their trinkets can go missing.
SyncCrate syncs the mods folder directly between PCs. It compares every file by content, copies only what's different, and shows you the list before anything changes.

- Turn mods on and off. Disabled mods move to a

Sync Darkest Dungeon in three steps
Install and add the game
Install SyncCrate on every PC and add Darkest Dungeon in the Game Browser. Its folder is found automatically.
One PC hosts
The PC with the setup everyone should have clicks Start Hosting. The others pick it under Scan for Hosts on the same network, or paste its join code from anywhere.
Compare and sync
Check the list of new, changed and conflicting files, then Sync Now. Only the files that differ are copied, PC to PC.
TipClose Darkest Dungeon on the receiving PC before syncing. SyncCrate warns you if the game is still running. After syncing, check the game's mod list for your profile.

When Darkest Dungeon mods don't match
Heroes vanish from the campaign
A class mod that's missing on the other PC can take its heroes and trinkets with it.

Good to know
- Steam Workshop mods aren't synced. Steam keeps them outside the game folder, so subscribe to the same Workshop items on the other PC.
- Saves aren't synced. Darkest Dungeon keeps profiles outside the game folder.
- DLC isn't copied. Mods that build on The Crimson Court or other DLC need it on both PCs.

Where do Darkest Dungeon mods go?
In the mods folder inside the game's install folder, one folder per mod. SyncCrate finds Steam installs in every library.
Does it sync Workshop mods?
No. Steam keeps Workshop mods in its own folder. SyncCrate syncs the mods in the game's mods folder.
Does it work with Darkest Dungeon II?
This page is about the first Darkest Dungeon. Darkest Dungeon II is a separate game and isn't in SyncCrate's game list.
Can I share my modded setup with a friend?
